USC Builds
From Marketing Intern to Marketing & Communications Specialist
My journey with USC Builds began in 2020 when I joined the organization as a marketing & communications intern through the Brand Camp program. During this experience, I gained hands-on experience in marketing communications, website development, content creation and brand storytelling.
After continuing to grow my skills across different roles, I had the opportunity to return to USC Builds in 2023 as the marketing & communications specialist. Since returning, I have helped lead marketing initiatives, support brand development, create internal and external communications, and develop creative strategies that showcase the company’s work, values and impact.
Revitalize & Innovate Symposium
As part of USC Builds’ commitment to industry collaboration and community impact, I supported the planning and execution of the Revitalize & Innovate Symposium, a multi-day event bringing together industry professionals, partners, and community leaders.

USC Builds Rebrand
In 2023, US Ceiling Corp began its transition to USC Builds, creating an opportunity to establish a refreshed brand identity that better represented the company’s growth, expanded services, and future direction.
I supported the implementation of the updated brand across digital and print communications, helping ensure consistency across marketing materials, internal communications, and external-facing content.
Turning Brand Identity Into Everyday Visibility
As part of USC Builds’ brand presence, I designed company apparel that extended the organization’s identity beyond traditional marketing channels. The goal was to create pieces that represented team pride while also serving as a mobile representation of the company’s commitment to skilled trades and craftsmanship.
Digital Marketing & Communications
Beyond larger initiatives, I developed ongoing communications materials designed to highlight company milestones, industry involvement, employee initiatives, and organizational values.
Researching, Creating, and Updating the US Ceiling & USC Sites.
Before the transition to USC Builds, one of my first major projects as a marketing intern was contributing to the redesign of the US Ceiling website while helping develop a new website for its sister company, USC. At the time, the goal was to establish distinct digital identities for each brand while maintaining a cohesive user experience.
The project began with a competitive analysis to identify industry best practices and inform our design approach. Using those insights, we developed website concepts, refined content, and created a structure aligned with each company’s brand and objectives.
Working closely with my supervisor, I helped update the existing US Ceiling website and build the new USC website by organizing content, integrating visual elements, and supporting the overall design and layout. Before launch, we conducted quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy, functionality, and a seamless user experience.
